I predict we will see this same trend in the future, typically in the past human labor was indisposable even in cases where a job required little skill. Now in the current paradigm human labor is entirely disposable through artificial intelligence and automation. Being able to replace employees with machines is a strong bargaining chip for businesses Vs. unions. Artificial intelligence is still in its infancy but it already has replaced many lawyer's jobs by automating the previously very tedious discovery process for firms. Not to mention all the driving professions AI will replace in the future with computer driven cars (which have already driven hundreds of thousands of miles successfully). We live in uncertain times but being aware and educated on the subject is the only way to prepare for the current paradigm shift the world is experiencing.
